This week: Compliance professionals get in-depth training at NAFCU conferences [ [link removed] ]
Hundreds of compliance professionals are in Minneapolis this week for two top-rated NAFCU conferences: Regulatory Compliance School and BSA Seminar. Also this week, the NCUA is offering a webinar on liquidity and interest-rate risk, which is among its supervisory priorities this year.


NAFCU congratulates AACUC award recipient Maurice Smith [ [link removed] ]
NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger congratulated Maurice Smith, CEO of both Local Government Federal Credit Union and Civic Credit Union, and this year's recipient of the African-American Credit Union Coalition's (AACUC) Pete Crear Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of the association. The association also made a donation in Smith's honor to AACUC's Pete Crear scholarship fund.


NAFCU advocacy gears up for Caucus [ [link removed] ]
In less than a month, hundreds of credit union representatives will descend on Capitol Hill to advocate on key issues during NAFCU's Congressional Caucus. While Congress is currently in its August recess, the association's award-winning advocacy team continues to meet with legislative staff on Capitol Hill to secure speakers and is encouraging credit unions to meet with lawmakers while they're in their home districts and states.

NAFCU last week released a new-and-improved Regulatory Alert template to make it easier for credit unions to review and understand proposals, find contact information and provide comments. This member-only resource is sent when federal agencies and departments propose changes to regulations that will affect credit unions.
