Saludos John, it’s Gabe. I wanted to make sure you saw this piece on the work I’m doing to protect YOUR right to make YOUR own decisions in The New York Times:

The New York Times: Hispanic Male Democrats Make an Abortion-Rights Pitch to Latino Men

I know many Mexican and Mexican-American Catholic households like mine don’t discuss politics, especially when it comes to the issue of abortion.

But the reality is reproductive healthcare is on the ballot this year. Latinos like myself are voting for this issue alone — CHOICE. Choice matters and we have seen people speak up on this across the country, including some red states and NM’s 2nd congressional district.

I believe that every person I love and every New Mexican has a right to make these choices for themselves. That’s why I will always fight to keep politics out of the doctor’s office.

But with my opponent publicly on the record as stating that she wishes New Mexico had “eliminated ALL abortion,” it’s a guarantee that she will do everything in her power to erode New Mexicans’ reproductive freedom should she make it back into Congress.

That’s why I need to ask you today: Will you chip in $10 or any amount possible to my re-election campaign today to help me continue championing abortion access and reproductive healthcare in Congress? Any amount helps when the stakes are this high.

Gracias. Together, we can ensure that all women have access to reproductive healthcare.

— Gabe
