Earlier today, we launched our July match offer with a big goal: Inspire bird lovers like you to start an annual gift to help safeguard birds and the places they need to survive year after year. At a time when birds like the American Goldfinch are at serious risk from deadly dehydration, we must flock together for their protection.

Donate Now ([link removed])

We’re counting on caring friends like you to join us with an annual donation today to provide birds with a brighter future. Right now, your first gift will be matched, up to $50,000, for birds in need. ([link removed])

Starting now: 2X match to give birds the protection they deserve ([link removed])

Repeated exposure to increasingly frequent and severe heat waves can impact entire bird communities. Among the most susceptible to high temperatures are small songbirds, like the American Goldfinch, that dehydrate quickly. If climate change continues unchecked, more extreme weather events, including extreme heat waves, lie ahead.

Many birds can’t escape the impacts of the climate crisis. But today, you can do twice as much to help them survive. Starting now, your first annual gift will be matched, up to $50,000, thanks to a generous group of donors. Please choose to make 2X the impact now » ([link removed])

Songbirds like the American Goldfinch are not the only type of bird impacted by extreme heat. When sea surface temperatures become unseasonably warm it can cause marine organisms to move hundreds or even thousands of miles to find cooler water. In a die-off event during 2015 and 2016, one million Common Murres died from starvation after a long-lasting marine heat wave squeezed their ecosystem’s food supply.

But despite grim news like this, we’re not losing hope! Thanks to generous support from people like you, we’re building a more sustainable future for birds and people alike. Through research, advocacy, and hands-on conservation action, we are pushing for the large-scale change it will take to ease habitat loss and help mitigate the impacts of the climate crisis.

The birds you love need support!

Severe heat waves are predicted to increase in intensity, frequency, and duration in the coming years.

With 3 billion birds lost in the last 50 years, we must do all we can to protect the species that remain.

This work, and all of our work on behalf of birds, is only possible with the steadfast support of caring bird lovers like you. So please, start your annual recurring donation right away, while your first gift will be matched, up to $50,000, for birds and their habitats. ([link removed])

Sincerely,
