NEW: Arkansas abortion amendment disqualified from ballot
First, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, reversing the constitutional right to an abortion.

Then, one after the other, GOP-led states made abortion outright illegal – including states like Arkansas.

So, over 100,000 Arkansas residents signed petitions for a proposed ballot measure to make abortion legal in the state again under certain circumstances.

But now, GOP Arkansas Secretary of State John Thurston is rejecting the petition, despite meeting the legal threshold by over 10,000 signatures.

Let us be clear: this attack on reproductive freedom threatens the democratic process and undermines the will of the people.

Unlike the modern day, MAGA-led GOP, our pro-voter Democratic secretaries continue to fight for the will of the people and for the fundamental right to choose.
