John, my thoughts are with all of the victims from this weekend’s shooting, and I am thankful that the former President was not seriously injured and is back to his regular activities. Political violence has no place in a civil society and must be universally condemned, and we all must do so in the strongest terms.

We can’t allow such violence to be normalized.

Politics should never lead to violence. We must remain guided by the rule of law and our Constitution – not our emotions. Our passion for our democracy is real, but it is not and can never be a reason to harm one another.

We must also continue to bring awareness to the high stakes of this election. Project 2025 is the GOP’s presidential transition roadmap and details the oncoming wave of extremism that is a real risk for our people and our democracy, and we must not lose sight of that. It is our responsibility to bring critical information to the public so that their voices and concerns can be heard at the ballot box.

The Republican National Convention starts today, and there’s no doubt that it will reiterate the GOP’s extreme agenda that a majority of Americans have made perfectly clear does not align with our shared American values and vision for our country.

There could not be a clearer contrast between our vision for my campaign and the Democratic party, and what we are sure to hear at the RNC. I’ll be continuing my work to share OUR vision for the future and counteract the GOP’s misinformation at every turn.

Thank you for your continued support and steadfast commitment to a democracy that makes us all more safe, more secure, more prosperous, and more united, for generations to come.
