  • Former President Donald Trump announced Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) as his vice presidential nominee. Vance has a long history of peddling far-right election conspiracy theories and supporting anti-voting policies. We break down his record on voting rights here.

RNC and Trump campaign sue Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D)

  • Trump’s campaign and the Republican National Committee (RNC) sued Whitmer and other state officials over orders designating government offices as voter registration sites.


Right-wing group challenges Biden’s executive order promoting voting access

  • A right-wing group and GOP officials — including Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas) and Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose (R) — filed a lawsuit claiming that President Joe Biden's 2021 executive order expanding voter registration opportunities violates federal law.


  • This isn’t the first right-wing lawsuit to challenge Biden’s EO. In January, Pennsylvania Republicans invoked the discredited independent state legislature (ISL) theory to challenge Biden’s executive order.

Trial kicks off in case accusing right-wing group of intimidating Colorado voters

  • A trial started today in Colorado to determine whether a right-wing group illegally intimidated voters by interrogating people at their homes about their voting history and falsely claiming to be from "the county."


  • The right-wing group is called U.S. Election Integrity Plan, which formed after the 2020 election and some of its members, according to the lawsuit, have ties to QAnon and participated in the Jan. 6 insurrection.
