Friends,
This weekend our country faced a tragic moment when an extremist attempted to assassinate former President Trump at his rally.
I want to make one thing clear: there is no place in our country for political violence — it’s not what our country stands for.
In the United States of America, we settle disputes and disagreements at the ballot box, not through violence. And now, our country is at a crossroads — where extremism has threatened to upend that practice.
Extremism of any kind is a direct threat to our democracy, and so are leaders who encourage it.
So this November, we must remember to fight extremism at the ballot box by voting for leaders in power who will fight for policies and the American people the way our democracy intended, through discourse and respect.
This election will be one of the most important of our lifetimes. That still stands true today. We have a lot of work to do before then and I hope you will stand by my side throughout the journey.

Congressman Robert Garcia is fighting to make sure every freshman Democrat is re-elected this November so we can take back the House majority. But he can’t do it without your help.
