John,

Last night I joined CNN to address the division in this country.

Here’s what I said:

I get to serve on the Foreign Relations Committee and travel around the world.

I’m now convinced that the greatest threat to this nation is not some foreign adversary.

It’s the growing tribalism and hate within our own country where we find it hard to recognize that the lines that divide us are not nearly as strong as the ties that bind us.

We need each other.

We are a nation that needs healing.

That’s the America that the world needs.

I am working every day to help create the more just, loving nation that we can and must become. I hope you will join me.
