Hi John! We’re Afreen and Arsheen, Nida’s sisters!
As three young Muslim girls growing up in North Carolina, the elected officials didn’t look like us. Their parents didn’t immigrate from India and Pakistan and none of them wore hijabs.
We couldn’t relate.
But a new generation of Muslim girls has it better. They have our baby sister. She is proving that a young Muslim mother can raise the minimum wage, defend reproductive rights, and build a grassroots base of support.
She’s the elected official that we could only dream of as children.
We’re endlessly proud of Nida for her work, but the NC GOP’s fascist agenda threatens to turn back the clock on her progress.
The GOP has nominated some of the most extreme candidates ever, John. They’re Islamophobic, homophobic, and misogynistic. Our sister is committed to working between now and Election Day to turn out true progressives to stop extremists from taking power, but she needs your support.
