This year we will celebrate Earth Day under a global pandemic. This week of activism was originally planned with many direct actions at some of the largest corporations financing climate change and Amazon destruction. Instead, we are all staying home to combat the spread of COVID-19 and taking our fight online.
Yesterday, the price of oil plummeted below zero – meaning that producers have to pay to store their supplies because literally no one wants it. There has never been a better time to move toward a just transition that builds a new economy – one that is free of Amazon crude.
As more and more people begin to realize that there will be no going back to "normal," we are focusing our attention on how these changes can push us to shift our society and economies to more sustainable practices.
Join us this week for the premiere of a powerful new video narrated by our friend and ally Sigourney Weaver and as we host a segment during Earth Day Live as part of Stop the Money Pipeline with indigenous youth climate activist Helena Gualinga from Sarayaku, Ecuador.
