There are many differences between MAGA Kevin Hern and our campaign. This is one of the most important. I will protect Social Security benefits. Hern will cut them. I'm running for Congress in Oklahoma's 1st District to stop MAGA Kevin Hern because I want to ensure Social Security is never cut, never privatized, and the retirement age is never raised.
It’s not difficult to see where Hern stands on Social Security. Hern is making the rounds on FOX News arguing to raise the retirement age from 67 to 69 and to cut benefits. It’s like it’s 1983 again and Hern is pushing the old Ronald Reagan plan – “We have to kill Social Security in order to save it.” Reagan raised the Social Security retirement age from 65 to 67 and taxed Social Security benefits. We can’t let this happen again. Once they're gone, you'll never get them back.
Ever since Democrats created Social Security and President Roosevelt signed it into law in 1935, Republicans have been trying to gut it. Hern is no different. He’s at the center of it.
My pledge is this - as a member of Congress I’ll fight to strengthen Social Security. I’ll make sure Social Security keeps up with the cost of living and stays solvent. I’ll stop Hern’s efforts to raise the Social Security retirement age, cut Social Security benefits, and privatize Social Security.
