[1]“POLITICO” Democrats’ momentum puts Senate majority in play

Despite the pandemic, or frankly, maybe because of it, Democrats across
the country have the momentum right now in the race to flip the Senate. If
we defeat Trump and flip just 3 seats in November, we will end Mitch
McConnnell’s control over the U.S. Senate.

Republicans know it too. That’s why McConnell’s super PAC allies are
writing huge checks to try to preserve his hold on the Senate gavel. They
just booked $67 million in ads attacking Democrats in targeted states.

What’s more, nearly $20 million of that money is going to be spent trying
to tear down two-DFA endorsed progressive champions with real shots of
flipping their Republican-held seats: Theresa Greenfield in Iowa and Betsy
Sweet in Maine.

Republicans are scared because they know Theresa and Betsy, both strong
Democrats running aggressive campaigns, can win these purple states with
the support of voters in-state and the grassroots nationwide.

If I were a Republican, I’d be worried too, because as long as we step up
in support today, we’re going to send Republicans Joni Ernst and Susan
Collins packing.

This is a difficult time for so many of us, and it’s hard to think about
elections while we’re all just trying to keep ourselves and our families
safe and healthy.

The problem is that the election will happen in November whether we like
it or not. And it doesn’t take more than 5 minutes of watching Trump’s
incompetent and dangerous handling of this crisis to be reminded of
exactly how important winning in November is for the safety of us all.

That’s why despite these tough and scary times, we have to stay focused,
contribute, take action, volunteer online, call voters… do everything we
can to win up and down the ballot nationwide.

We will win in November, defeat Trump and flip the Senate, but only if we
