John, we resolve our differences at the ballot box — not with bullets.
As you’re aware by now, on Saturday evening at a Pennsylvania campaign rally, former President Donald Trump was injured in what is being characterized by law enforcement as an assassination attempt.
In addition to Trump, four others were shot, including a volunteer firefighter who tragically died while shielding his daughters from gunfire.
John, let us say with clarity: We resolve our differences at the ballot box — not with bullets and we in no uncertain terms condemn this and ALL cowardly acts of political violence.
As a progressive network, we are committed to fighting for causes that value advancing justice, dignity and peace for all peoples and communities.
The stakes of this election are higher than they’ve ever been before, John. But if we're going to save and protect our democracy — then we must continue to loudly reject all forms of political violence wherever and whenever we see it.
At the same time, we must help to elect leaders into office who not only reject violence but believe in peace and the good of others.
