John,
We just wrapped up our fiscal year, and I’ll be blunt: we’re behind on our fundraising goals. Will you make a monthly donation to make sure we don’t have to slow down the fight for our rights?
As we fight bad internet bills1 and surveillance tech expansion2, your support fuels our fast-paced and responsive campaigns, allowing our small team to advocate effectively for everyday people’s privacy interests at the highest levels. But if we can’t close this fundraising gap, we might not be able to keep up with all these campaigns, much less respond to new, urgent threats as they come up.
We just need 83 people to start a monthly donation to guarantee Fight can continue full steam ahead in the struggle for privacy and Internet freedom. Will you make a monthly donation to help close the gap and keep holding lawmakers and Big Tech accountable?

Here’s an in-depth look at what your support will make possible:
-
Protecting queer and trans kids and their right to access the Internet.
We’ve fought hard to build a united front against the “Kids Online Safety Act” (KOSA)3 and call it what it is: a censorship bill, not a safety bill. While we’ve kept this dangerous bill from passing so far, Congress can bring it to a vote at any time. Your support helps us react on a dime and protect kids and marginalized folks everywhere from being kept from accessing vital information online.
-
Fighting Big Tech to pass the comprehensive federal privacy legislation we desperately need.
Encoding our privacy rights into the law has been an uphill battle. Just recently, lawmakers working on the American Privacy Rights Act (APRA), influenced by intense lobbying from Big Tech, removed civil rights protections from the privacy bill4. To level the playing field with Meta, Google, and more and actually pass good privacy legislation, we need to campaign fiercely and honestly. Consistent, small-dollar support from people like you makes that work possible.
-
Defending our victories on net neutrality.
Winning and keeping net neutrality, which guarantees equal access to the Internet for all, is a fight near and dear to our hearts. Now that the FCC has reinstated net neutrality protections5, it’s more important than ever to hold our ground and fend off attacks on our progress from Big Telecom companies. Your support will help us campaign to defend net neutrality and push for democratized access to the Internet for the long-term.
-
Supporting local fights against surveillance expansion before it’s too late.
From body cameras in TJ Maxx6 to mask bans7 to AI-powered digital pricing8, we learn of new and worrying surveillance initiatives nearly every day. One of our top priorities is to let you know what’s threatening your privacy and mobilize people across the country to stop new, draconian initiatives before they spread. This rapid-response work takes flexible funding that we can allocate where it’s most needed, when it’s most needed. That’s where you come in.
It makes a world of a difference when we know we can rely on monthly support. From identifying new privacy issues to building successful campaigns to defending our wins, we can’t do this work without you. So, please, consider a monthly donation to help us build a safer future together. Thanks for being there for us–we’re excited to return the favor.
In solidarity,
Alex at Fight for the Future
