Building off of the work under the Vaccine Equity Cooperative (VEC), the Health Equity Community Collaborative (HECC) – a movement of community members, health care providers, public health practitioners, researchers and health equity advocates committed to cultivating belonging, fostering healing and building shared power.
We know first-hand that it's not an easy time to work in health equity. And, while the emergence of COVID-19 brought many challenges, it also brought opportunities for community-based workforces and health equity champions to push for long-awaited change. Together we have had some incredible wins, but the work continues. And the message from all of you has been clear: we need each other – no one person, organization, philanthropist, intuition or community can do this work or eradicate health inequities alone. So we must continue expanding the tent. This is where the newly launched HECC comes in – as do all of you.
Our hope is to bring joy, laughter and love into our work – co-creating a space for everyone to feel supported while enduring the challenges that come with health equity work. Through HECC, we will continue to enable easier ways to share resources, best practices and expertise across issue areas, sectors and geographies, in an attempt to accelerate our collective impact by filling gaps in the broader health equity ecosystem and pulling together allies to tackle cross-cutting challenges.
We, the core partners, remain committed to building the biggest tent in collaboration so that we all can learn, serve, heal and benefit in a loving community, starting with these opportunities:
Stay tuned, be well and we’ll see you again soon!
