Big news here at Public Citizen headquarters.

We are thrilled to announce that Lisa Gilbert is joining Robert Weissman as
co-president of Public Citizen.

This news is already being noticed in the halls of power.

“I’ve long been glad to work side by side with Public Citizen and Lisa Gilbert,
and it’s great news that she will be helping lead the organization as
co-president going forward.” —Senator Elizabeth Warren

“Congratulations to Lisa Gilbert on her well-deserved elevation to co-president
at Public Citizen. Lisa is known far and wide as a passionate advocate for
strong democracy, ethical government, and a livable planet.” —Rep. Jamie Raskin

Lisa and Robert have worked closely for more than a decade, and she has been at
his side as Public Citizen’s executive vice president since 2020.

Here’s Robert:

“Lisa is known throughout the policy community as a brilliant strategic mind, a
master coalition builder, a powerhouse lobbyist, an expert across a broad range
of policy areas, and a genuine change maker. Together — and at a crossroads
moment for America — we hope to make Public Citizen even more effective in
advancing democracy and justice, health, and a livable planet.”

And here’s Lisa:

“I could not be more excited to join Robert at the helm of Public Citizen. I
came to this work — and to Public Citizen — 12 years ago because I’ve always
been motivated by fairness. Once I saw the clear unfairness of our politics, I
couldn’t unsee it. At Public Citizen, we fight for fairness every day. And we
win.”

Right now, we are working on plans to address the post-election reality —
whatever it is. We will make sure Public Citizen is positioned to advocate
strongly for what is right regardless of who becomes the next president of the
United States. We have so much to do!

to help protect everyday Americans and our democracy from corporate greed and
government inaction.
