Hello from the State Capitol,
Like you, the assassination attempt on President Trump Saturday has left me filled with shock, disappointment, and sorrow.
It is incredibly sad that some people out there believe political violence is acceptable. I hope you will join me in praying for the family of the hero who lost his life trying to protect his family, the victims who are recovering in the hospital, the rallygoers who just wanted to support their presidential candidate, and President Trump, who should be able to share his vision of America without having to worry about being shot.
We came within an inch or two of losing a former United States president, and that should outrage us all, regardless of your political views. The assassination attempt in Pennsylvania is an American tragedy, and there is no place for this in American politics.
FILLMORE COUNTY VETERANS HOME
Hopefully, many of you have been able to get a look at the brand new veterans home in Fillmore County. Not long ago, we held the dedication ceremony for the project and I was pleased to be able to speak at the event.
Much like our veterans cemetery, this veterans home will be recognized as one of the jewels of southeastern Minnesota. It was my great honor to carry legislation that helped establish both of these projects, and consider their creation two of my proudest legislative accomplishments. Our veterans put their lives on the line to protect our freedoms, and providing this veterans home is the perfect way for a grateful state to show its gratitude for their sacrifices.
PLEASE CONTACT ME WITH YOUR LEGISLATIVE NEEDS
During an election year, legislative updates such as these can only go out until two months after session ends. As this deadline is coming up this week, this is likely the final time I will be sharing information with you until after Election Day. But, that does not mean I am not available to help you with any legislative concerns or questions you may have. Please contact me any time at [email protected] or by phone at 651.296.9278 if you need anything.
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Greg
