Dear John,

Late last night, President Trump announced he would suspend immigration to the United States.

As we work together to protect public health and help one another through this time, we must also stand up for our values–and say NO to the Trump administration’s efforts to exploit the pandemic to advance its racist, anti-immigrant agenda.

Tell Congress to stop Trump’s executive order. [link removed]

This executive order follows a series of attacks on legal immigration over the last few years, including attacks on the asylum system and implementation of travel bans affecting people from African and predominantly Muslim countries.

The Trump administration is failing to recognize a fundamental truth–that immigrants strengthen both our communities and our economy. This new policy will only serve to separate more families and loved ones at a time when the support families and communities offer one another is vitally important.

During this pandemic and as we recover, we need a massive shift of resources away from militarism and immigration enforcement and toward public health–not xenophobic distractions.

Please join me in urging Congress to take immediate action to reverse Trump’s executive action with legislation that protects immigration to the U.S. [link removed]

In solidarity,

Kristin Kumpf
