Hurricane Beryl: A word from the Texas is Ready Team

Typically, the Texas is Ready newsletter is distributed on the first Thursday of each month. Unfortunately, we experienced a disruption this week due to Hurricane Beryl. One of our team members, Ana Belén, a native Houstonian, faced a prolonged power outage that lasted several days. While Ana's power has now been restored (allowing us to send this newsletter), her parents and older sister are still without electricity. Fortunately, they have been able to stay cool by visiting a cooling center and staying with family members, a luxury not all affected individuals have.

To our readers in the communities impacted by Hurricane Beryl—Matagorda, Galveston, the Greater Houston area, and beyond—please know that the Texas Is Ready team is keeping you all in our thoughts. We hope that you and your loved ones are safe and that your communities experience a swift and smooth recovery.
