In a series of devastating decisions that have gutted our bedrock environmental laws, the Supreme Court made it even harder for agencies like the EPA to protect everyday Americans.

Last Year: In Sackett v. EPA, the Supreme Court bulldozed the Clean Water Act and a critical basis of a healthy society and life itself: clean water.

Last Month: In Ohio v. Environmental Protection Agency, the Court’s conservatives ruled to block the EPA from ordering polluting power plants and industries to reduce their toxic air pollution.

Also last month: In Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimonddo, the Supreme Court's conservatives obliterated decades of precedent to rescind a longstanding legal principle called “Chevron deference,” shifting policymaking power away from scientists and experts in the field and towards unelected judges, who are proving to be more open to anti-environmental and deregulatory agendas.

This threatens countless aspects of daily life, including government rules and standards that keep our air clean, medications safe, and transportation less dangerous. With this ruling, the courts continue put the agenda of polluters over the American people’s safety and wellbeing.

We ended our fiscal year without hitting our $303,000 goal, and we simply can’t fall short in times like these. We were able to extend the match through today – the 15th – and we are so close to meeting that goal.
