Friends,

Almost a week after Hurricane Beryl devastated our communities, many of us are still without power, internet, and other essential services. Restoring these services is the first crucial step toward full recovery. My team and I are in constant contact with CenterPoint, pushing to expedite the restoration process.

Despite their round-the-clock efforts, CenterPoint’s delays in restoring power highlight a lack of preparedness. I have pressed them to provide a more timely and transparent response. Once all services are back online, I will work with local and state officials to dissect their response and ensure we’re better prepared in the future.

I've also been working with Members of the Texas Delegation to secure federal assistance. Earlier this week, FEMA approved public assistance and debris removal. Yesterday, President Biden approved individual assistance for residents of Harris and Montgomery counties, following our formal request.

Thank you for your patience and resilience during this challenging time. My office is committed to supporting our community's recovery. You can find hurricane resources on my website. We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure no one is left behind. Together, we will overcome this crisis and emerge stronger.

Sincerely,

S.E.A.L Youth Summit Registration

Image

I’m excited to announce that my fourth annual youth summit is set for Saturday, September 7th! This year, we’re taking it to the next level with the Summit for Emerging American Leaders (S.E.A.L.), which will be held at 9:00 AM at the John Cooper School’s Glenn Performing Arts Center.

Our previous youth summits have been a fantastic success and this year promises to be just as impactful, providing a unique opportunity for young conservatives to come together, learn, and engage with like-minded peers. Politics is downstream from culture – if we want political change, we have to change the culture, and that starts with you – the next generation of patriots.

Students in high school can register, and teachers and others can nominate students on our webpage at crenshaw.house.gov/register-for-youth-summit. Don’t miss this chance to be part of an inspiring and empowering event. Sign up today and join us in shaping the future of conservatism.

President Trump Survives Assassination Attempt

Image
President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Despite being shot in the ear, his immediate and powerful response—fist raised, rallying the crowd—was nothing short of epic and will be remembered in American history.

Please pray for President Trump’s recovery. The FBI is investigating this shocking security lapse to ensure it never happens again.

In these moments, we must unite as a nation against violence and stand firm in our democratic values. Stay strong, stay united.

Cooling Stations

With the heat indexes in the mid-90s and power coming on but still out, it is important you stay cool.

Remember to be a good Texan and good neighbor and take care of each other. Everyone is going through something right now.

Academy Nominations Application Information

We are currently accepting applications for a nomination to a service academy. The honor of attending a service academy comes with the obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation.

Members of Congress may nominate candidates for appointment to four of the five U.S. service academies: U.S. Military Academy (USMA), West Point, NY; the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA), Annapolis, MD; the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA), Colorado Springs, CO; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), Kings Point, NY. The fifth service academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), New London, CT, does not require a congressional nomination for appointment.
