My Statement on the Assassination Attempt on President Trump 

"Our prayers continue to be with President Trump and the victims of last night’s terrible assassination attempt. We are grateful for God’s protection and the quick actions by law enforcement to prevent further harm.

President Trump and the American people deserve a thorough and transparent investigation into how this was allowed to happen. I am thankful to Speaker Johnson and Chairman Comer for leading this investigation in the House of Representatives."

SAVE Act Passed the House

It should not be controversial to say that Americans alone should decide the outcome of our elections. I am a proud original cosponsor of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, also known as the SAVE Act, passed in the House. This crucial legislation requires proof of citizenship for voters to register for federal elections and empowers states to clean up their voter rolls. Now more than ever, we must safeguard our democracy. I urge the Senate to act swiftly and send this crucial legislation to the President’s desk. Watch my remarks on the House floor here.

Glioblastoma Awareness Day

Glioblastoma is the most common malignant brain tumor in the U.S., with 14,490 new cases diagnosed last year. I introduced a bipartisan resolution expressing support for the designation of July 17, 2024, as “Glioblastoma Awareness Day.” This resolution increases glioblastoma awareness, which is critical to research and treatment advancements, and brings hope to those fighting this devastating disease. Small Business Committee Hearing

This week, I led a hearing examining the current economic landscape of America. As Chairman, I am proud to serve as the voice for Main Street America in Washington. I believe that starting a small business is the definition of the American Dream. Unfortunately, many small businesses are facing unprecedented challenges, stemming from bad policy decisions by the Biden Administration. Main Street America simply can't keep up. This week, the House Committee on Financial Services held two hearings. In the first hearing, Secretary Yellen delivered her annual testimony on the state of the international financial system. In Case You Missed It!

We are a land of laws. It is illegal to cross the border and evade Border Patrol. It is also illegal for non-citizens to vote in federal elections. Instead of protecting the integrity of American elections, 198 Democrats voted against the SAVE Act, encouraging non-citizens to simply check a box and be eligible to cast a ballot illegally. With the Democrats in disarray, it is clear that this is an intentional effort by Biden to bring in millions of illegal votes. I joined Fox Business and Fox LiveNOW to discuss.
