Dear John,
I am sure you will have rejoiced at the election result just as much as me. We won all our four target constituencies, all with thumping majorities, and as if this was not enough, we came 2nd in 40 others, including Queen's Park and Maida Vale (crossing WCL and Brent local parties), where our very own Vivien Lichtenstein achieved 13,6% of the vote share. AMAZING!
All candidates in West Central came in comfortably over 5%, meaning that in what is a first for WCL, we got all our deposits back!
A massive thank you to all our amazing candidates and volunteers, and everybody who has chipped into our campaigning kitty over the last weeks and months!
Of course we are now looking ahead to build on this success: we have large numbers of new members (welcome all!) and we are preparing for the local council elections in May 2026 to continue breaking through and getting more Greens elected.

Our coming meeting on the 22nd July, which is also our Annual General Meeting, will be a key moment for us to get going towards May 2026.
At the AGM we will select a new leadership team and all officer roles (chair, treasurer, secretary, and electoral returning officer, as well as comms, social media and membership officers) will be up for election. Please consider if you'd like to join the leadership team bring your skills in, and feel free to get in touch to discuss any questions you may have about these roles (just by reply).

In a personal note, I will not be standing for re-election as Chair. I really enjoyed doing this job over the last two years and I would like to thank all of you for your support and contributions to making WCL into an ever stronger local party.
All the best
