Friends, family, and supporters:

Like people all across the country, I am deeply distraught over the tragedy at President Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania yesterday.

I’m relieved he is safe, and Anne and I are praying for the families who lost loved ones, those who were at the rally, and all who were impacted by this.

I also pray for our country — that we reject violence in deed, word, and thought.

Right now more than ever, leaders need to step up and show that we can treat all with respect.
