Judicial Watch continues to force states to comply with the National Voter
Registration Act by sending notice-of-violation letters to 19 large
counties in five states that it intends to sue unless the jurisdictions
take steps to remove ineligible voter registrations.
Judicial Watch signed a settlement agreement with the State of California
and County of Los Angeles under which they will begin removing as many as
1.5 million inactive registered names that may be invalid.
Judicial Watch argues that California has registration rates exceeding
100%: Eleven of California’s 58 counties have registration rates
exceeding 100% of the age-eligible citizenry.
