Former President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt on Saturday. Shortly after taking the stage at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, shots rang out. The former president was struck in the ear and fell to the ground. After several moments of uncertainty, the Secret Service brought Trump to his feet and rushed him to a vehicle. The former president was taken to a local hospital and was later released.
News reports also indicated one rally goer had been killed by a gunshot wound to the head and a second rally goer was critically wounded. The assassin, who was perched on a rooftop roughly 150 yards away, was shot in the head and killed by a Secret Service counter snipper team.
