Voto Latino’s Statement Regarding the Attack on Former President Donald Trump

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, President, Maria Teresa Kumar of Voto Latino issued the following statement on the attack on former President Donald Trump:

“Voto Latino strongly and unequivocally condemns political violence. It has no place in our democratic process. We send our prayers to former President Trump and hope for his quick recovery.

Our deep condolences to the families of those killed as we pray for a speedy recovery for those injured. The citizens in attendance were practicing their freedom to assemble peacefully—a core pillar of our democracy. We are grateful to law enforcement officials who responded quickly on the scene. This is a sad day in America.

As we get closer to Election Day, we must remember that we are all Americans and we must come together and commit to restraint and maintain the resolve that we settle our political differences not with bullets, but with our vote at the ballot box.”
