Folks, in nine days we’re facing our April fundraising deadline. But before we ask you to chip in, we want to explain why this deadline matters: A lot has changed for our campaign this month. We expanded our digital advertising budget (and added virtual phone banks and a texting program!) so we can keep doing our important work in this new reality. Then, a DC-based super PAC came in and bought up hundreds of thousands of dollars of TV ads across our district to attack Ben, forcing us to increase our April fundraising goals to include TV ads of our own. This group of supporters stepped up and got us close to where we needed to be. Now, we’re getting ready to close the books on our April fundraising after this game-changing month, and we need your help to get us the rest of the way to our goal.
This isn’t an arbitrary number, team -- this is how much we need to continue on our path to victory in November. And with outside attacks from dark money groups starting earlier than we had anticipated, this is shaping up to be an incredibly expensive race. It’s critical we meet this goal.
