Our nation is in the midst of its worst public health crisis in generations. Thousands of people have died from COVID-19, and those numbers are only going to climb. It would be unconscionable to deny millions of Americans the protection of health care.

As a doctor, my life’s mission is helping people. The idea of denying millions of vulnerable Americans the protection that comes with quality health insurance isn’t just unfathomable — it’s offensive.
We have to do everything in our power to ensure access to life-saving health care. Like my sister, I am worried that thousands of otherwise preventable deaths will happen simply because President Trump and the GOP hate President Obama’s Affordable Care Act.
