Dear Taxpayer,
It's Violet’s 11th birthday!
By now, you’ve probably heard about “Violet’s Law:” WCW's bill to retire and release lab survivors across the U.S. federal government.
But have you met the namesake of this historic legislation?
Violet (formerly Govt ID #CEGMBN) is a coonhound. Violet's white coat captors locked her in a cage for most of her life.
Poor Violet had never played outside, felt grass or sunshine—she ate, slept, cried, and went to the bathroom in the same laboratory cage.
But you and I blew the whistle on our government’s animal testing abuse. And Violet was retired and re-homed with a WCW Board Director!
Taxpayer, Violet is the most famous former lab dog EVER.
Thanks to your support, Congress named “Violet’s Law” in her honor—and it’s the most important public policy of its kind.

Official birthday card for Violet
I'm proud to work for the most effective organization that gets dogs like Violet out of labs.
When the White Coat Waste team launched the campaign to pass Violet’s Law, zero federal agencies had retirement policies.
Adoptable dogs were killed and dumped in a garbage bag.
Now, retirement is a reality at the NIH, VA, DOD, and FDA. And YOU made it happen.
So, please take 11 seconds to sign your name on a special birthday card for Violet's 11th birthday.
Happy birthday, Violet!

P.S. This birthday card isn't just for Violet, but also for families who provide loving homes to lab survivors. Violet's birthday card is a simple message of support: ALL pets are family—even former lab animals.
