An important update from Congressman Ken Calvert about what he is working on in Washington on behalf of Riverside County residents

The same California agency, the DMV, processes drivers licenses for illegal immigrants and registers people to vote in our elections. I voted earlier this week along with a majority of the House of Representatives to pass the SAVE Act (Save American Voter Eligibility) which simply requires proof of citizenship before someone is registered to vote. This is a common sense step to protect our elections.

California needs all of the support we can get in combatting wildfires and more air assets can save lives and property. That’s why I led a bipartisan effort with California Senator Alex Padilla to transfer seven C-130 aircraft from the U.S. Coast Guard to CalFire for use in wildfire suppression. The aircraft are being refurbished and equipped to join the fight against California wildfires in the very near future. 
 

I joined my House Appropriations Committee colleagues earlier this week at a press conference highlighting the passage of all 12 of our annual appropriations bills by our Committee. We've gotten our work done in a timely and fiscally responsible manner. While this is an important step in this process, there is more work to do to get across the finish line. These bills contain a number of priorities for the 41st Congressional District that I have been proud to work on together with our local leaders.
