Hey, it’s Kirby, Michelle Vallejo’s campaign manager. I want you to read this for me:
“We’re not just vendors. We’re neighbors.”
I can’t stress it enough when I say that this phrase is the foundation of Michelle’s campaign for Congress. This is a community effort through and through — because this is a campaign that puts South Texas first, not the self-interests of our current Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz.
But I think Michelle put it best, so I’m forwarding her email from yesterday. Give it a read and if it moves you, please consider making a donation of any amount to support Michelle today:

Hi there, it’s Michelle Vallejo. For me, this campaign for Congress always comes back to a phrase we would say at the pulga: No somos pulgueros. Somos vecinos.
We’re not just vendors. We’re neighbors.
I grew up at the pulga, and my experiences there have directly shaped my approach to our community and our campaign to flip TX-15. My pride in community powers every single thing I do, and I know that the road to Congress is going to take the efforts of every single one of us.
Here’s the thing: Election Day is almost four months away, so we need to make sure we don’t lose any of our momentum. It’s especially important because it’s July, the typical period where political campaigns experience their “summer slump” of fundraising.
I’m determined to overcome that — but it’s going to take all of us pitching in just a few dollars to fight for South Texas. Can I count on you to chip in today?

I know that representing TX-15 means listening to the community members who make up this district. That’s why I’m constantly on the road, talking to South Texans like you and me, listening to their concerns, and shaping my advocacy to the issues that matter to them.
This is what our current representative — Monica De La Cruz — should be doing, but instead she’s too busy prioritizing the whims of MAGA Mike Johnson, Donald Trump, and whatever the Republican establishment instructs her to do.
National Republicans like my MAGA extremist opponent are too extreme for South Texas. As a longstanding member of our community, I know voters are ready for a change — because we all deserve better.
I’m running to represent TX-15 because right now De La Cruz is too busy chasing headlines and MAGA validation to be in community with South Texans.
Being in community means that even if we disagree, we work to find that bridge. De La Cruz, Trump, and the national GOP are entirely unwilling to work with us — and this needs to change.
Let’s defeat De La Cruz once and for all and bring back leadership that will usher in progress — not extremism— back to South Texas. Chip in $10, $25, or whatever amount you can today:
Thank you,
Michelle
