Just this week, Rep. Pete Stauber attached two provisions to the must-pass bill funding the Department of Interior, which will head to the floor for a vote by the full House of Representatives. You may have noticed that we’ve asked you to message your member of U.S. Congress more than usual regarding specific pieces of legislation that are bad for the Boundary Waters. Want a refresher? Father-daughter pair Tim Reese and Sylvie Hooker Reese (18) from Minnetrista are embarking on an epic 182.4-mile paddle across the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness on July 30 to increase awareness and support for Save the Boundary Waters in their effort to prevent copper mining from occurring the watershed. Applications are now open for our November Kids for the Boundary Waters D.C. fly-in! Since 2018, Kids for the Boundary Waters have been conducting Washington D.C. fly-in trips and have been a vital part of winning protections for the Boundary Waters through their advocacy.
