** In Spite of Lockdown, JMC High School Teacher Program Expands to Florida
------------------------------------------------------------

JMC and partners are launching a new statewide initiative in Florida to equip high school teachers with the knowledge they need to introduce students to our founders’ vision of a free nation.
Florida, a leader in civic education policy, will be the sixth region in which JMC launches Founding Civics programming for high school teachers, joining Chicago, New York City, Wisconsin, Virginia, and Philadelphia.

Twelve online seminars are currently in development to be initiated this summer and will be followed by in-person programming next year. Seminars will be led by top professors in our network from across the country.

JMC efforts will be strengthened by an unprecedented collaboration with the Ashbrook Center and Bill of Rights Institute. Together we will provide high school teachers with the solid grounding they need to effectively teach their students the fundamentals of a free nation. This program was initiated in consultation with the Florida Department of Education.

The program will begin online in the summer of 2020 and will expand to include an in-classroom format in 2021. The speed with which we can expand this program all across the state of Florida will depend upon the level of donor support.

This statewide initiative, when proven successful, will become the model for future expansion into other new areas around the country.
