Friend, Over the past few years, Jaime has led the fight in Washington to restore the natural habitat of native salmon and steelhead along our rivers and waterways. It was recently reported that sea lion removal in the Upper Willamette River saw steelhead numbers rebound beyond expectations. While we see the same levels of sea lion predation on the Columbia River, help is on the way. You may know that Jaime fiercely advocated for expanding the sea lion control efforts on the Columbia by authoring a bill signed into law by the President. By championing this plan, the Columbia River salmon numbers have a chance to rebound in the coming years. For Jaime, protecting salmon and steelhead here in Washington isn’t just politics, it’s personal. Raised in Southwest Washington, Jaime understands the importance of our rivers and waterways, and the fishing and recreational opportunities they support. And she’s made it her mission in Congress to protect them. Thanks, Team Jaime
