Exciting News for the Hudson Tunnel Project
This week, Congressman Kim released the following statement celebrating new funding for the Hudson Tunnel Project:
"New Jerseyans are eager to see the Hudson Tunnel Project cross the finish line and yesterday’s historic investment is how we will get it done. I am proud to have worked to make this funding possible through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and celebrate such substantial and long-awaited progress. This is one of the largest federal infrastructure grants in our country’s history and is going to help transform one of New Jersey’s biggest infrastructure needs into jobs, economic growth, and a reliable transit corridor for hundreds of thousands of commuters."
Demanding a Ban on Bump Stocks
The United States Supreme Court recently decided to reverse a Trump-era ban on bump stocks, a dangerous firearm tool that helped the mass shooter at the Route 91 Harvest music festival in Las Vegas kill 60 people in just 10 minutes. After this disastrous decision, Congressman Kim is committed to action, including signing what’s called a “discharge petition” this week to force the Republican-led House to vote on a ban from Congress.
Bump stocks help guns shoot faster and banning them is a commonsense step to save lives.
Congressman Kim Votes Against Resolution Threatening Title IX Protections
This week, Congressman Kim voted against a resolution that threatens to undermine Title IX’s protections for survivors and its protections against discrimination. In the face of dangerous legislative action like this, we are proud to continue to defend Title IX and take other steps to uphold everyone’s right to an education free of harassment, discrimination, or violence.
Reauthorizing the Development Finance Corporation
Reauthorizing the Development Finance Corporation (DFC) allows us to better and more equitably build coalitions overseas with new partners and current allies. This week, Congressman Kim voted to reauthorize the DFC and released the following statement:
“We’re in a new era of global politics - one that requires the United States to be creative in its approach to working with our allies and partners to address the world’s greatest challenges. It requires us to show up and be a reliable partner. Today’s bipartisan vote provides positive and needed reforms to the Development Finance Corporation, which has been one of our most effective tools in uplifting people around the world and promoting our values abroad.”
