(Port Orchard, WA) - Last winter, the 36-inch diameter corrugated metal culvert carrying Coulter Creek beneath the road suffered a significant failure, leading to the roadbed being washed out and requiring a complete closure of the roadway. Subsequent inspections revealed that a second culvert on the same section of road is also failing and will need replacement.
County crews are scheduled to begin construction on the replacement structures in August 2024 upon receipt of pipe replacement materials. Our goal is to complete the necessary work and restore access to the road by October 2024.This timeframe falls within the "fish window," designated by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife to minimize disturbance to aquatic life.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to restore access to Sunnyslope Rd SW.
