Biden’s Press Conference

Missed Biden's press conference (especially since it started almost an hour late)? Don't worry, I've got the highlights for you:

Before the presser, Biden confused President Zelenskyy with President Putin… yes, really. He also mistakenly referred to Vice President Kamala Harris as Vice President Trump. He did that weird, creepy whisper thing way too many timesPerhaps most telling, he spoke about needing to "pace himself," a quote that I’m sure the GOP is already editing together for a political ad.

Did he do better than the debate? Yes. Did he prove he's capable of holding his current office? Absolutely not. And yet, he remains resolute about staying in the race.

In the latest episode of "From the Frontline," Cole discusses the political ramifications of Biden's performance, the reactions from both sides of the aisle, and what this could mean for the upcoming election. He also dives into the recent changes to the Republican Party Committee's platform and examines the potential vice-presidential picks for Donald Trump.

The Party Platform Problem

Speaking of the newly revised Republican platform, it is very troubling for the conservative movement. Notably, the platform now only mentions God twice — a stark reduction from the 16 mentions in the 2016 platform — has softened its language on the sanctity of life, and completely removed traditional definitions of marriage.

Cole Muzio commented on the shift, tweeting,

This platform change indicates a major prioritization problem that may yield short-term gains but pose a serious risk to the long-term ideological integrity and effectiveness of the conservative cause. We must continue to advocate for a return to principles that do not erase our core values.

For those interested in comparing the changes firsthand, I encourage reading both the 2016 platform and the newly adopted 2024 platform. Here are the links to both documents.

Back to School Thoughts

This past week, as my husband and I went to the store to pick up a few things, I noticed that school supplies are already hitting the shelves. I was instantly reminded of back-to-school shopping when I was a kid with my parents and how much I always looked forward to it.

Then, it hit me how different it must be for parents sending their kids to school now compared to even 10 years ago. Many families' back-to-school checklists aren't just about notebooks, pencil boxes, and crayons anymore. They're about ensuring that biological boys aren't allowed access to girls' private spaces, that textbooks aren't filled with woke or outright obscene material, and that elementary-aged kids aren’t being exposed to Planned Parenthood-funded sex ed programs.

This new kind of checklist is a reality for many across the country.

Fortunately, in Georgia, we have one of the most robust Parental Bill of Rights in the country (thanks to Frontline and conservative leadership, I'd like to mention). However, Biden's sweeping federal policies like his Title IX change will fundamentally alter the privacy and safety of our schools as kids start school in August.

Parents, I am praying for you as you begin your back-to-school shopping. And I'm also praying we oust the Biden Administration in November, so parents’ back-to-school checklists can return to just backpacks, markers, and notebooks.
