Securing Federal Funding for Poplar Creek Public Library and Hanover Park's Sewer System

Securing More than $1.6 Million in Funding for Poplar Creek Public Liberty District

Congressman Krishnamoorthi presents the Poplar Creek Public Library District in Streamwood with a check commemorating the federal funding he secured for facility improvements.

Last Monday, I joined Poplar Creek Public Library District in Streamwood to present the library with $1,666,279 in community project funding for essential building improvements, such as installing new carpeting, replacing rubber titles in the children’s area, and sealing exterior concrete. Once completed, the library will become a more efficient, effective, and accessible space for the community to hold meetings, conduct business, and host educational events. While staff and community members are the beating heart of any library, it’s essential that the library offers a safe, welcoming, and comfortable environment for everyone to come together and learn.

Securing $800,000 in Federal Funding to Upgrade Hanover Park’s Sewer System

Congressman Krishnamoorthi presents Hanover Park Mayor Rodney Craig with a check for $800,000 in federal funding he secured.

Last Monday, I also joined Mayor Rodney Craig in Hanover Park to commemorate the $800,000 in federal community project funding I secured to upgrade the village’s six sanitary sewer lifts. These stations ensure the smooth, controlled functions of sewer systems, preventing overflows, accidents, and outages. As the existing equipment approaches the end of its effectiveness, the new upgrades will ensure that the village’s sewer system will meet Clean Water Act standards and support even better public health within Hanover Park by reducing water contamination and other risks posed by aging pipes.

Our Next Wood Dale Office Hours: Wednesday, August 7^th: 10:00am – 1:00pm in the Wood Dale Public Library at 520 N Wood Dale Rd, Wood Dale, IL.

We will continue to hold additional office hours in Wood Dale on the first Wednesday of each month: September 4^th, October 2^nd, November 6^th, December 4^th.

Our Next Elgin Office Hours: Tuesday, August 13^th: 10:00am – 1:00pm at the Gail Borden Public Library (Elgin Branch) at 270 N. Grove Ave, Elgin, IL.

We will continue to hold additional office hours in Elgin on the second Tuesday of each month: September 10^th, October 8^th, November 12^th, December 10^th.

Our Next Des Plaines Office Hours: Tuesday, August 13^th: 9:30am – 11:30am in the Des Plaines Public Library at 1501 Ellinwood St, Des Plaines, IL.

We will continue to hold additional office hours in Des Plaines on the second Tuesday of every other month: November 12^th.
