In 2020 — the last time Donald Trump was on the ballot — Democrats won this Virginia swing seat by around 8,000 votes. That’s it. 8,000 votes.

In 2022, the GOP spent $12 million on ads in this district, mostly in attack ads against the Democratic candidate.

In November, this race will be one of the few that decides which party controls the House.
