James, no matter who is the Democratic nominee, Bernie is right — this election has to be about defeating Donald Trump with a winning policy agenda that centers the working class and progressive priorities. We will organize and mobilize progressives to defeat Trump in November, but we can only do it with your grassroots support.

Donald Trump believes climate change is a hoax. Donald Trump wants to slash Social Security and gut Medicare. He wants to give more tax cuts to rich CEOs and giant corporations, while he and his rich friends watch working people struggle. Trump wants to get back into office where the right-wing Supreme Court has granted American presidents absolute immunity.
Whether it’s Biden or someone else at the top of the Democratic ticket, the message must focus on raising wages, protecting and expanding Social Security, improving Medicare, addressing the urgent crisis of climate change, strengthening abortion rights, and much more. We will fight for our progressive policies, to preserve democracy, and to keep Trump out of the White House.

Many Democratic lawmakers on Capitol Hill keep going back and forth on Biden, or give vague statements of concern or support. Who knows how much longer this will go on.

As Newsweek reported last night — Rep. Ro Khanna echoed Bernie’s message at an Our Revolution panel at Netroots yesterday, saying, "What's missing [in Biden's campaign] is not the correct pronunciation of every sentence, what’s most missing is a bold vision for 2024.” A bold vision he argued should include universal child care, free public college, ending fossil fuel subsidies, Medicare for All, and recognizing the Palestinian state, as 143 other countries have done.
On the panel, Our Revolution Executive Director Joseph Geevarghese did not mince words about the state of the race in 2024, “The bottom line is this — progressives are pissed — given both the political and policy dynamics of this contest. Progressives want to stop a return of Trump, but there's a serious deficit of confidence that Joe Biden is the vehicle capable of achieving that."
