** LGBTIQ Community Impacted by Cat 5 Storm

Dear John,
When Hurricane Beryl slammed into the Caribbean islands last week, the powerful category 5 storm caused more than just property damage. It intensified many of the challenges that LGBTIQ people in the region face daily.
Housing and food insecurity is a common reality for the most at-risk members of our global community. Hurricane Beryl instantly worsened these conditions, especially for those living in rural areas who are cut off from resources and services…even communication.
This is a critical opportunity for us to support our local partners ([link removed]) so they can help those affected by the storm. Here are some of the immediate requests we’ve received:
* Barbados: Emergency funding for temporary housing; vehicle rental or travel stipend for volunteers to travel to affected areas and regain contact with those who are missing; food, medicine, and doctor visits.
* Saint Vincent and the Grenadines: Construction materials, galvanize, roof repair.
* Jamaica: Funding for structural repairs to homes as well as food, water, toiletries, and hygiene products.
