*"A Message from City Council Leader, Cllr David Mellen:"*

This global pandemic brings not just stress and worry about our own health and that of our loved ones but the lockdown will unavoidably lead to increased isolation, money worries and make some of our usual coping mechanisms inaccessible. To address this important issue for local people, we have put together some useful top tips as to how to look after our mental health over this unprecedented time and an extensive list of local support services. Please visit our website below.

With the news at the end of last week that the lockdown has been extended for another three weeks, even if you feel you are coping well at the moment, please do take note of this guidance in case it is useful to you later.

*Nottingham Bike Aid - helping key workers to keep moving *
Bike aid
We have worked with a number of local organisations and Sustrans to improve travel options for key workers in Nottingham. Im really pleased to see the launch of the Nottingham Bike Aid project which brings a sustainable travel offer to key workers and volunteers who are providing vital support to local people with the following:
* The Nottingham Emergency Bike Bank can provide free bikes to essential workers who are struggling to get to their workplaces due to the current restrictions and reductions of public transport services.
* Support for keyworkers and employers to identify travel needs and provide personalised travel plans. These will help key workers to identify the best routes for their commute and are especially useful for new cyclists.
Please email
[email protected] or visit sustrans - cycles-for-key-workers [ [link removed] ] if you are a worker or employer and wish to find out more about the project.
You can help the initiative by donating to their fundraiser or by donating your unwanted bikes. Email
[email protected] to arrange collection.

*Business Update*
Nottingham Skyline
We are continuing to work hard to help and support business across the city and a new software package means that money will be paid out much quicker this week as business fill out our online and eform to provide us with a few details. Any business which has not filled out a form yet should do so here. [ [link removed] ] We expect to have paid out over 19m by today which is good news.
Finally, I want to thank you for taking the right approach and for the part you are playing in the fight against the virus and protecting the NHS and other frontline services. The people of Nottingham have overwhelmingly done the right thing, with very few people in our streets and parks. Please remember to stay at home and:
* Only go outside for food, health reasons or work (but only if you cannot work from home)
* If you go out, stay two metres (six feet) away from other people at all times
* Wash your hands as soon as you get home.
