2) Supreme Court’s Decision on Chevron Deference is a Lemon: [[link removed]] [[link removed]]
SCOTUS overturned the Chevron deference, a precedent that has protected Americans for decades. This means more litigation and delay – undermining federal agencies’ ability to protect the environment, public health, worker safety, and more. ELPC will explore additional methods for Midwest states to enhance regulatory safeguards at the state level.
3) ELPC Celebrates as Hard-fought Energy Efficiency Bill Passes Ohio House

After years of work and many frustrating twists and turns, the GOP-led Ohio House of Representatives passed common-sense energy efficiency legislation. HB 79 aims to ease electricity costs and reduce peak demand by providing utilities the ability to run energy efficiency programs. Now, on to the Senate!
4) ELPC & Michigan Climate Action Network Appeal Line 5 Oil Pipeline Permit

Enbridge’s Line 5 oil pipeline is too dangerous to run through the Straits of Mackinac where an oil spill would be catastrophic to the Great Lakes. ELPC attorneys – representing ELPC and the MI Climate Action Network – filed a brief asking the Court of Appeals to reverse the Public Service Commission’s flawed order approving the pipeline plans.
