In Dallas, our minority populations suffer the most from high crime. Over 90% of the murder victims this year are Black and Hispanic.

  • Blacks & Hispanics are the top victims of crime in Dallas.

  • Crime gets worse; Dallas City Council members do nothing.

  • DPD needs to move from 3,000 to 4,000 police officers ASAP.

90% of Dallas Murder Victims Are Black or Hispanic

In Dallas, our minority populations suffer the most from high crime. The Dallas Express reports that over 90% of the murder victims this year are Black and Hispanic. This abysmal statistic is a direct consequence of the Dallas Police Department (DPD) staff shortage, and the Leftist policies that keep it underfunded. In order for the DPD to operate effectively, it should have around 4,000 officers to keep up with the current population. However, the DPD is currently at 3,000 active-duty officers.

This is unsustainable. For a city that preaches equity, Dallas is ignoring the greatest struggle of its minority populations!

The Dallas City Council has ignored the cries of community leaders and has shown little interest in fixing this staffing issue. Instead, the Council has been working behind the scenes to give themselves a raise and address the high-octane issue of… horse-drawn carriages!? No, really– I wish I was joking.

Now, the Dallas City Council is in recess for the month of July, having done very little to solve the Dallas crime crisis. As crime inevitably worsens over the summer, we need our readers who love this city to contact their City Council Members and make it clear that this surrender to high crime is unacceptable!

With the highest year-over-year percentage increase of crime in his district compared to the rest of Dallas, Councilman Chad West takes home the dubious honor of Crime Boss of the Month for the fourth time this year. With a 2.2% increase in crime, District 1 continues to get worse under Chad West’s leadership!

Dallas Public Libraries Overrun With Vagrants

The Dallas Public Library is NOT equipped to handle this level of vagrancy. Vagrants are camping out in front of the downtown library and accosting residents. Nobody feels safe enough to visit their library, and library staff are not social workers. The City needs a real solution; as of right now, they are just enabling the problem.

North Texas Drug Dealer Admits to Distributing Fentanyl

A North Texas drug dealer has admitted to knowingly distributing pills laced with fentanyl. This led directly to the death of a 26-year-old man. Dallas leaders must take this issue seriously; officer shortages will breed this chronic crime culture further.

Tracking Illegal Camps:

This Week, Joseph went live from the I-635 and Coit Rd encampment. This camp was “decommissioned” last month, but the vagrants are back and more plentiful than ever. The City is failing every business in this area!

District 6 Councilman Omar Narvaez

"Motel 6 Camp"

This camp in Omar Narvaez’s District 6 has been dubbed “Motel 6 Camp.” We took this picture on the hottest day of the year so far; this vagrant beat the heat by calmly reading on a mattress placed in the dirt. The encampment is directly next to a highway exit ramp, which makes for easy panhandling.

District 13 Councilwoman Gay Donnell Willis

"Median Rest Camp"

This camp in Gay Donnell Willis’s District 13 has earned the title “Median Rest Camp.” Medians on the road are not meant for private use; they exist to guide traffic. Sleeping on them is not only dangerous but also illegal. There seems to be no accountability in sight. City Council must work to end vagrancy and make Dallas safer!

District 2 Councilman Jesse Moreno

"Eastbound and Down Camp"

We named this camp in Jesse Moreno’s District 2 “Eastbound and Down Camp.” This vagrant has  taken up a permanent residence next to Interstate 30 in the heart of Dallas. This camp is a danger to both the drivers eastbound on I-30 and this person’s life. It should be decommissioned immediately!

Mission Statement:

Keep Dallas Safe exists to address crime and homelessness in Dallas with the goal of transforming Dallas into the safest large city in Texas for residents and businesses. We aim to have a City Council that prioritizes crime rate which directly determines the quality of life in Dallas. We do this by fighting against the "defund the police" movement, holding accountable our city leaders' efforts towards lowering district crime rates, and highlighting our city's homelessness problems by pushing for enforcement of the prohibition of urban camping.
