Summer is heating up, and so is our work to educate voters and push back against anti-voter legislation ahead of November. Keep cool while you catch up on recent updates from Fair Fight:
SB 189 goes into effect
Omnibus anti-voter bill SB 189 went into effect on July 1, which, among other provisions, will make it even easier to mount frivolous mass challenges.
In Macon-Bibb County, the local Republican party chair David Sumrall jumped to take advantage of the new law, filing over 200 challenges. Only 45 of the challenges were upheld. More challenges are expected, and Fair Fight will be ready to sound the alarm when they arrive.
Let’s Freaking Go (Volunteer)
Our democracy faces unprecedented challenges, especially during this crucial election year. That's why we announced the launch of our new volunteer recruitment campaign to boost voter turnout, protect voting rights, and save our basic freedoms: Let’s Freaking Go (Volunteer).
We’re empowering everyday Americans to support voters and protect our democratic process from election deniers and conspiracy theorists trying to tear our country apart. With the stakes higher than ever, we need your help to ensure fair and free elections in 2024, so LFG(V)!
Take action today and get involved.
Support from activists like you helps power this work, and ensure that we can reach more voters, this is especially important as extremists across the country ramp up their efforts to block access to the ballot box. If you can, chip in today to keep up the fight.
