Dear John,
Nearly four years have passed since the onset of false accusations that the 2020 election was stolen, yet relentless efforts to undermine our election system continue. To protect the integrity of this fundamental underpinning of American democracy, it is critical that lawyers who continue to propagate the Big Lie of election fraud be held to account, particularly where they do so in the courts.
This week, Lawyers Defending American Democracy (LDAD) filed a complaint [[link removed]] with the Michigan Supreme Court’s Attorney Grievance Commission, calling for the immediate investigation of attorney Stefanie Lambert for her pattern of unethical and illegal efforts to use the courts to undermine confidence in critical election infrastructure, and to impose discipline for those violations.
The complaint illustrates how Ms. Lambert facilitated multiple unlawful inspections of
election equipment in violation of court orders, shared confidential discovery materials in
violation of a protective order, facilitated unauthorized access to voter data, and
engaged in other behaviors that undermined public confidence in our election system.

As our constitutional norms and principles are being stressed to their limits, LDAD is committed to speaking out and galvanizing others to do so as well. At the end of a Supreme Court term that further eroded trust and confidence in that once august institution, Board member and Mercer Law School Professor Gary Simson wrote about the failed leadership of the Court's Chief Justice in The Fulcrum: The Supreme Hubris of John Roberts. We are proud to see the expertise of our counsel, Dennis Aftergut, recognized in this important article by Jennifer Rubin today in the Washington Post: About time – Senators Demand Special Counsel to Investigate Clarence Thomas. [[link removed]]
LDAD is undertaking many projects to respond to the attacks on our freedom and rights that had long endured, but are now gone or at risk, and will be eviscerated if Project 2025 comes to fruition. We will have more to say on that going forward.

We thank you for your time and attention,
