IYD State Convention Update

Hi Fellow Young Democrat,

First, we hope you are staying safe. In times like these, it's important we keep in touch and continue to work and dedicate ourselves to every day. While at home, consider making calls for a candidate in your area or give to a local charity providing resources during this crisis. Our state party has put together a list of resources and ways to give in every corner of our state. Also, a reminder that the only voting that happens on June 2nd is in-person voting. All mail-in ballots have to arrive by noon. Plan ahead and send in your ballot early given delays by COVID-19 on our postal services.

Second, we wanted to give you an update on IYD's State Convention. As you may know, the Indiana Democratic Party has decided to hold the State Convention virtually on June 13th. Our team is working non-stop to prepare options to hold IYD's very own state convention. We’re looking at all possibilities, including exploring a digital convention, electronic voting, and even great speakers. The deadline for candidacy filing is on April 29th at 11:59 p.m. More information on how to apply is provided further in this newsletter.

Third, to keep in touch with IYD, we have set up virtual events that you will find listed at the conclusion of this newsletter.

Overall, we wanted you and everyone else interested to know that we’re working to make a final decision on our Convention and will share details as soon as they're available.

In the meantime, stay safe and healthy, and we’ll stay in touch with you as plans come together.

Young Gets It Done,

Ali Brown,
Vice President
