The AEM Manufacturing Express has officially hit the road. This jam-packed tour will engage I Make America supporters at equipment manufacturing facilities across the country! We are so excited to be on the road - and especially excited for the release of our manufacturing-focused mobile game. Check out what we've been up to in June below!

[?] Spotlight on biofuels: This month, we sent out an information-packed email outlining the importance of biofuels, and how they quite literally keep our country running! If you don't know, biofuels are fuels made from renewable, farm-based products (think corn and sorghum) that lower prices at the pump, lower our country's carbon emissions, and support rural economic growth.

Dairy Month was moo-velous: June was Dairy Month, and we celebrated in a variety of ways, including purchasing from, and/or visiting, our local dairy operations. In our Dairy Month email, we sent out a link to this tracker, which shows you where the dairy you buy in your grocery store is sourced from. Do you know where your yogurt, milk, cheese, ice cream, and other dairy products are coming from?

State Legislation Update

Illinois: The Illinois budget increased funding for K-12 education by $350 million, fully funded MAP grants for low-income students attending college, and more importantly, contained record funding for manufacturing job training and career and technical education programs. Legislators included $3.5 billion in the state budget for infrastructure - about $500 million more than what the Governor had outlined in his February budget proposal.

South Carolina: This session, the "Working Farmland Protection Fund" was created to provide permanent protection to working farmland properties. To remediate workforce shortages, Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette has put workforce solutions at the forefront of her priorities. Most notably, Lieutenant Governor Evette worked with school systems across the state to create workforce training programs that will work with existing classroom curriculum.

"Bad infrastructure costs the American people billions of dollars a year in maintenance and repairs, lost time and wages, missed opportunities and connections, and more."
