Last month, we once again saw a majority of the Supreme Court expose themselves as partisan hacks.
It’s impossible to ignore that a group of right-wing politicians, masquerading as judges, fully control the Court. They do not fear reprisal as they hand down partisan rulings. They spend holidays and weekends with billionaires subsidizing lives of luxury and then turn around and decide cases to enrich their funders and further their agendas.
I first introduced a Supreme Court ethics bill over a decade ago, and it’s more urgent than ever that we pass it. I don’t pretend this will immediately solve everything, but it’s an important first step toward rebuilding trust in our nation’s highest court.
ADD YOUR NAMEI’ve introduced this bill in every Congress since 2011, and the crisis of confidence and trust in the Supreme Court is only getting worse. It is outrageous that every federal judge is bound by a code of ethics except for the nine who sit on the highest court in the country.
It’s plain to see how radical the Supreme Court has become. They just gutted the authority and decision-making powers of expert public servants in the executive branch by overturning decades of precedent under the Chevron doctrine. The Supreme Court is just a cog in the collective power grab orchestrated by Trump, Republicans, corporate interests, and billionaires.
This is the most ethically compromised Supreme Court ever, and if you agree, I need you to help me pass this legislation:
Passing my legislation is an important first step toward reining them in and stopping the harm they’re imposing on our rights and democracy.
ADD YOUR NAMEEvery best wish,
